Have A Squeaky Automatic Door? What You Can Do To Repair It

Peetu Couri

If you manage or own a business, you know just how important it is to ensure that everything is functioning properly and that everything looks nice. Not only do you want the interior of your store to be clean and stylish, but you also want your store to function well—including your automatic door.

When you have customers coming in and out of your business all day long, automatic doors can be a real lifesaver—especially if you have a lot of moms with strollers or people with disabilities who shop at your store. If your doors have been a bit squeaky lately, you may be wondering what you can do. After all, you don't want your customers to be bothered every time the door opens and closes. Ready to learn a few tips? Read on to learn some more.

Use WD-40 at the Hinges

Oiling the hinges of the door will do you wonders. All you have to do is get a can of WD-40 or a similar oiling spray and squirt it directly onto the hinges on your doors. Then, you can try to spread the oil mixture around the hinges so that they get well-lubricated; this is one of the best ways to ensure that the hinges get covered and that everything spreads around evenly.

Tighten Any Loose Bolts

Before you start this step, turn off the power to your automatic doors so that you don't get hit when you are attempting to screw in loose bolts. Sometimes doors get creaky because the bolts are loose on them. Walk around your door and inspect all of the screws and bolts. Do any of them seem loose? If so, then tighten them.

Call a Repair Technician

If you have tried oiling your doors and tightening any loose bolts, then the only option left might be to call an automatic door repair company (such as DOORS FIXED RIGHT, INC.). These repair professionals have training and expertise in all aspects of automatic doors, which means that they can get it repaired in no time. If your door is too damaged to repair, then they can always replace it for you so that you can get your store up and running again in no time.

Now that you know a few repair tips to help with your automatic door, it's time to give them a try and see if any of them work. And, remember that if they don't work, you can always call a repair technician to come and help.
